For one week Lumby will be your home. Make the most of it in this small friendly community of 1,731 people, located near the edge of the Monashee Mountains. The village is home to a network of trails along the creek beds, known collectively as the Salmon Trail. Hang gliding and paragliding are very popular in Lumby.
There are over 60 wineries nearby! British Columbia has its own wine appellation designations and regulations. One of them is the Okanagan Valley, filled with world-class wineries, many in operation for decades and exporting around the world. Consider exploring the wine trail of Canada’s west… https://www.okanaganwines.ca/wineries
For those interested in fishing nearby lakes, reservoirs and streams, there are some excellent choices including Gallon Creek, Vidler Creek, and Fish Hawk Lakes. Whether you’re fishing for Carp, Sucker or Largemouth Bass, or one of the other fish found near Lumby, local bait and tackle shops will be happy to share where to find them, how to bring them in, and who’s having success. So get your fly fishing gear, baitcasting setup, trolling equipment, or spin casting gear out and find your new favorite fishing spot.
Off-Road Vehicles (ORVs)
There is NO off-road vehicle use permitted at the Rally site. Away from the Rally site you’ll find that off-road adventure is hugely popular in British Columbia. Keep in mind that risk of forest fire can quickly close the operation of any off-road vehicle for recreational purposes. So first check wildfire status, then look for where the fun begins.
Owners of out-of-province ORVs must register them in their home jurisdictions if registration or licensing is available there (e.g., ORVs from Alberta). Out-of-province ORV owners who do not have registration or licensing available in their home jurisdictions (e.g. ATVs from Saskatchewan) must carry proof-of-ownership documentation when riding on BC Crown land.
